Émile-Jacques Ruhlman:
Rare and Important Ceiling Light, Model No. 3543NR, c.1930

Restoration

The ceiling light was thoughtfully restored to maintain its historical importance while incorporating modern functionality. The alabaster shade was carefully refreshed, and the chromium-plated brass body was gently conserved, preserving its original patina. An internal metal structural plate was fabricated for the ceiling rose to provide secure support when installed. Custom-made passementerie tassels were produced to reflect the original design, and a bespoke fabric-covered electrical flex with an integrated steel cable was created to safely bear the fixture’s weight. The light was fully rewired to meet current safety standards.
