Restoration

Ahead of the auction, the tables underwent careful restoration to ensure both visual integrity and functionality. The brass panels were gently removed from the wooden frame, and remnants of historic glue were carefully cleaned away. Once re-adhered, the panels were polished to revive their original luster. The sliding mechanism was sensitively adjusted and restored to ensure smooth and reliable movement. Areas of the base where historic paint had deteriorated were repainted and the final finished surface resulted in keeping with the period character.
