Hans Coper:
Powell Duffryn Mural, 1961
Restoration
When the mural was offered at auction in Düsseldorf in November 2024, it was in poor condition. One section had an active hairline crack, in addition there were numerous chips, areas of poorly executed historic restoration, and required cleaning and waxing.
The mural required comprehensive conservation work to be exhibition-ready. The challenge was further complicated by customs constraints, which meant all work had to be completed on-site at the museum within a tight timeframe. OG Solutions brought in one of their most trusted conservators to carry out the necessary conservation ensuring the piece was ready for installation the following week.
